Concurrent resolution on Middle East policy.

Summary

Expresses the sense of the Congress that the President should seek agreement to a peace settlement by all parties in the Middle East based upon the following principles: (1) withdrawal of Israel from territories occupied in the 1967 conflict; (2) termination of belligerency and acknowledgment of the sovereignty of every state in the area; (3) self-determination for the Palestinians within principles set forth in the United Nations Resolutions 194 and 242; (4) establishment and control by the United Nations Security Council of a zone of proportionate width on each side of the borders between Israel and its neighbors; (5) guarantee of freedom of navigation through the Suez Canal for all parties; and (6) guarantee of free access to Jerusalem for persons of all religious faiths. Expresses the sense of Congress that the United States should pledge that it will enter into an agreement to guarantee the final settlement based on these principles with such other powers as wish to join.
