Summary

Expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that the United States should: (1) review its foreign policy towards the republics of Yugoslavia in view of recent democratic reforms and the expansion of political and economic freedom in the Republics of Croatia and Slovenia; (2) continue its policy of support for the peaceful movement of Eastern European countries toward respect for human rights and greater political and economic freedom; (3) recognize in its foreign policy the movement toward democratization by the republics and the lack of movement by the central Yugoslavian Communist Government; and (4) articulate a new policy toward such Government and the six Yugoslav Republics that is consistent with democratic self-determination and respect for human rights.
