Summary

Calls on the Federal Government of Yugoslavia to: (1) include all ethnic groups, republics, and opposition parties in discussions and decisions regarding the future composition of Yugoslavia; (2) tolerate the rights of its people to engage in open dialogue about such composition; (3) progress in the transition from communism to the adoption of democratic principles and a free-market economy; and (4) refrain from the use of force in resolving interethnic disputes. Calls on the President to announce that the United States will oppose any unjustified use of force and any abuse of human rights in Yugoslavia.
