Summary

Expresses solidarity with human rights defenders in the Russian Federation and calls for an end to the attacks against human rights activists, including journalists, in the Russian Federation. Urges the Russian Federation to: (1) respect the rights and freedoms of human rights defenders; (2) take measures to end the attacks against human rights activists, including lawyers and journalists; and (3) fully investigate all unresolved murder cases of human rights defenders, including journalists. Urges: (1) the President and the Secretary of State to integrate human rights in all components of bilateral relations with the Russian Federation; and (2) the Secretary to use international fora to raise these and other human rights abuses in the North Caucasus and elsewhere in the Russian Federation.
