Summary

Creates a 12-member Select Committee on Assassinations to conduct an investigation of the circumstances surrounding the deaths of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Junior, in order to ascertain whether the laws of the United States relating to the safety and protection of the President, deprivation of civil rights and conspiracies related thereto, and the investigatory jurisdiction and capability of United States agencies and departments are adequate. Directs the committee to determine whether there was full disclosure of information and evidence among agencies and departments of the Government during the course of all prior investigations into such deaths and to make recommendations to the House for the amendment of legislation or the enactment of new legislation. Requires the committee to report the results of its investigations to the House, not later than March 31, 1977.
