Summary

Provides that the appropriations in the Legislative Branch Appropriation Act, 1973, which is not used to pay the salary of the Clerk and of the Assistant Clerk of the House Democratic Steering Committee, or the salary of the Executive Director and of the Research Director of the House Republican Conference, as the case may be, may be used, without limitation, by the House Democratic Steering Committee, or by the House Republican Conference, as applicable, for the payment of all its necessary expenses in such fiscal year. Provides that, until otherwise provided by law, that part of the amount appropriated for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1974, for the House Democratic Steering Committee and of the amount for the House Republican Conference for such fiscal year, which is not used to pay the salaries of its employees referred to above, as applicable, may be used by the organization concerned, without limitation, for the payment of all its necessary expenses in such fiscal year. Authorizes to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary for the payment of all necessary expenses of the House Democratic Steering Committee and of the House Republican Conference, until otherwise provided by law, effective with respect to each fiscal year beginning after June 30, 1974.
