Summary

Directs the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct to conduct an investigation of alleged improper conduct by Members, officers, or employees of the House of Representatives. Requires the Committee to determine whether such persons have violated the Code of Official Conduct, and after appropriate notice and hearing, to recommend to the House appropriate disciplinary action, if any. Authorizes the Committee to report recommendations with respect to the adequacy of the present Code and other standards of conduct applicable to the conduct of Members of the House. Authorizes the Committee to coordinate its investigation with the Department of Justice or any other law enforcement agency and to enter into agreements with such agencies as determined necessary. Authorizes the Committee to participate in judicial proceedings relating to its investigation.
