Summary
Expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that: (1) the return to the United States of all individuals who have fled the United States to avoid prosecution or confinement for criminal offenses and who are currently living in El Salvador should be a top priority for the U.S. Government; (2) the legislature of El Salvador is to be commended for its April 1997 passage of legislation which may lead to enactment of a constitutional amendment permitting extradition of Salvadoran nationals; and (3) the Government of El Salvador is urged to ensure enactment of a constitutional amendment permitting extradition of such nationals during its current legislative session.
