Congratulates Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the Burmese people on her award of the Nobel Peace Prize. Expresses the Senate's continued condemnation of the Burmese military junta, and support for Kyi and the Burmese people in their struggle for peaceful and democratic change. Calls upon the President, the Secretary of State, and the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations to: (1) publicly congratulate Kyi on her award; (2) take the strongest possible action, including support for international sanctions and arms and trade embargoes, against such junta; (3) encourage the restoration of democracy and condemn human rights violations in Burma; and (4) advocate the immediate and unconditional release of Kyi from house arrest.
