Summary

Expresses the sense of the Senate that, in order to encourage the continued improvement of relations between the United States and Romania, the Romanian Government should consider taking specified humanitarian actions in light of the upcoming Bern Human Contacts Experts Meeting of Helsinki signatory states. Expresses the sense of the Senate that the Department of State should: (1) pursue such humanitarian concerns at every possible opportunity, including at the Bern meeting of Helsinki signatory states; and (2) convey to the Romanian Government the importance of progress on such matters so that it may be taken into consideration by the Congress during the 1986 Most Favored Nation deliberations.
