Provides that the Senate may designate a Senator to serve as Deputy President pro tempore during the 100th Congress in addition to Senators who hold such office under the authority of S. Res. 17, 95th Congress (agreed to January 10, 1977). (S. Res. 17 provides that any Member of the Senate who has held the office of President or Vice President of the United States shall be a Deputy President pro tempore.)
