Summary
Eelnõuga täiendatakse presidendi ametihüve seaduses loendit, millistel juhtudel ametist lahkunud president ei saa ametihüvesid kasutada. Loendisse lisatakse juhtumid, kui ametist lahkunud president kandideerib või osutub valituks Riigikokku, Euroopa Parlamenti või ta nimetatakse ministri ametikohale. Seletuskirjas tuuakse esile, et kehtiva seaduse kohaselt on ametist lahkunud presidendil õigus tema erilise staatuse tõttu teatud hüvedele. Hüvedeks on õigus saada oma kasutusse elu-, esindus- ja tööruumid ruumide üüri- ja korrashoiukulude hüvitamisega riigi poolt või saada riigilt hüvitist presidendi elukoha korrashoiuga seotud mõistlike kulude eest; saada oma käsutusse nõunik ja sekretär, kes on Vabariigi Presidendi Kantselei teenistujad; saada ühekordset hüvitist ühe aasta ametipalga ulatuses; kasutada riigi kulul ametiautot ning selle korrashoiu ja kasutamisega seotud teenuseid; saada seaduses nimetatud korras hüvitist lähetuskulude ja muude põhjendatud kulutuste eest. Pärast ametivolituste lõppemist makstakse presidendile ka ametipensioni, mille määr on 75 protsenti presidendi ametipalgast.
