Deputy Robert Troy asked the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment if he or his officials have examined proposals to give the Commission for Regulation of Utilities additional powers to ensure that savings in gas and electricity prices are passed on to customers; if he will provide an overview of the current regulatory framework for both wholesale and retail energy markets; the national and EU legislation in this area; and if there are proposed EU regulations being discussed to regulate gas and electricity prices for consumers.
