Deputy Pat Deering asked the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources if he will request all mobile telephone suppliers to standardise the type of telephone charger they supply, all suppliers to supply the plug end to suit the same type of electrical socket and it should be possible to standardise the telephone end also, as this would make telephones cheaper to buy as a charger would not have to be included and would reduce the number of chargers that have to be disposed of and the effect this is having on the environment.
