That this House welcomes the commitment of this Government to increase energy efficiency in homes and buildings; is encouraged that £2.58 billion has been made available for home insulation and greener heating solutions; asserts that the rollout of the Local Authority Delivery (LAD) scheme has negatively affected the ability of local authorities to bid and effectively deliver energy efficiency projects and has created unnecessary challenges for councils; notes that the short timescales required by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy for bids and completion of projects will affect the quality and long-term efficiency of projects under the scheme; and urges the Government to align the deadlines for all phases of the LAD scheme to the Green Homes Grant Voucher Scheme deadline of March 2022 and to acknowledge that the work conducted under the scheme’s current deadlines is not a fair assessment of the quantity or quality of work that local authorities can deliver.

That this House commends the work of the diabetes team in Ealing in assessing the impact of intensive injection technique education and the use of a 4mm 32G pen needle on diabetes control; calls on clinical commissioning groups and other healthcare providers across the country to give people with diabetes choice over the technology they use and appropriate training in diabetes management skills; notes that use of poor quality technology can lead to increased pain and discomfort; is deeply concerned that patients who are multiple daily injectors are having the choice of the needle that they use taken away from them; and further notes the important role that innovative technologies play in supporting patients to lead full and active lives.

That this House congratulates 37 year old Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar on becoming the first person ever to score 50 test match centuries; notes that this incredible achievement came on Sunday 19 December 2010 during the first test between India and South Africa at the aptly named Centurion cricket ground in South Africa; further notes that this was Sachin Tendulkar's 175th test match for India and the 107 runs he scored were his seventh test century of 2010; and agrees with Indian cricket coach Gary Kirsten, who said after Sachin Tendulkar's achievement that it was little wonder that he has been so successful over so many years because he treats every cricketing day with humility and respect and works as hard as he can on his game, that it is a great lesson for young cricketers and that he is a professor in batting.
