We urge the Government to stop making Religious Education (RE) compulsory in schools in England, and to allow it to be an optional subject from Year 10 onwards. Many schools make RE a compulsory GCSE. We believe children who are not interested in RE could have more choice and time to spend on subjects that they are interested in. A 2023 Ofsted reports showed that the quality of Religious Education in schools was of poor quality.

There needs to be the equivalent protections for children experiencing abuse in schools, as there is for the rest of society in all other areas of society. We need the government to hold schools more accountable for reporting criminal activity to the police, instead of keeping it within the school, they need to treat abuse as abuse and stop the treatment including physical attacks, sexual assault and trauma being I flicked by children to other children. If this behaviour was to happens anywhere else it would not be acceptable even towards the country most prolific criminals, actions would be taken.
