Summary
That this House is concerned about those who are homeless this Christmas, particularly in light of reports warning of an extremely cold winter; notes with deep concern that the extent of the problem of homelessness is far worse than Government figures suggest, with the continuing issue of the hidden homeless including people staying in temporary accommodation; praises the work of charities such as Crisis, Shelter and the Simon Community and also local organisations such as St George's Crypt in Leeds which provides shelter, food and support to the homeless each year over the Christmas period; and commends the work of volunteers for their dedication and hard work in giving up their time over the Christmas period to help some of the UK's most vulnerable people.
