HAMDT 497 (97th)
An amendment to require that costs incurred in the modification or replacement of structures under the act be paid by the beneficiaries. Irrigation water users would have up to 50 years to repay for the costs, unless they are beyond the users ability to pay, then existing law will be in effect. The Secretary is to determine the interest rate on the cost charged the beneficiaries and is to be reset by the Secretary at five year intervals. The Secretary would determine the proportionate costs to the various beneficiaries.
