HAMDT 57 (104th)
An amendment to change the threshold at which CBO would be required to prepare a cost estimate for legislation imposing a federal mandate on the private sector. The amendment would lower this threshold from $100 million to $50 million in direct costs, the same dollar amount that currently applies to proposed mandates on state and local governments. (Text of the amendment was printed as amendment No. 165 in the Congressional Record of January 23, 1995.).
