HAMDT 722 (103rd)
An amendment comprised of 3 amendments offered en bloc to establish local advisory commissions for the Death Valley, Joshua Tree, and Mojave National Parks. The amendment provides that the advisory panels would have to be composed of representatives from major disciplines and uses within the national parks, and specifies that they must include representatives of local government, and of ranching, mining, and inholders. The amendment includes a "sunset" provision under which the advisory commissions would be abolished automatically ten years after their establishment.
