Summary
Spent Fuel Contingency Act of 1987 - Requires the Secretary of Energy to enter into agreements to implement a written contingency plan accepting title to, and responsibility for, spent nuclear fuel from persons who have contracted with the Government under the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982. Mandates that such plan require the Secretary to finance out of the Nuclear Waste Fund all costs associated with spent rule management at nuclear powerplants or other storage sites. Authorizes the Secretary to make direct payments or issue credits to persons who provide specified assistance to the Secretary in implementing this Act.
