Summary
Amends the Fair Trade in Auto Parts Act of 1988 to require the Secretary of Commerce (Secretary), in seeking to increase access of U.S.-made auto parts and accessories to Japanese companies, including Japanese markets, to consider the extent to which U.S.-based auto parts and accessories companies that are not affiliates of Japanese-owned or -controlled companies have gained access to such markets. Requires the Secretary to report annually to the Congress on the sale of U.S.-made auto accessories in Japanese markets. Requires the Special Advisory Committee to take into account the barriers to sales in Japanese markets of U.S.-made auto parts and accessories manufactured by companies not affiliated with Japanese-owned or -controlled companies.
