Summary

Authorizes the Federal Power Commission to conduct studies of the production, gathering, storage, transportation, distribution, and sale of natural gas throughout the United States and its possessions. Requires the Commission to keep current information regarding: (1) the ownership, operation, management, and control of all facilities for such production, gathering, storage, transportation, distribution, and sale; (2) the cost of such production, gathering, storage, transportation, distribution, and sale; (3) the rates, charges, and contracts in respect to the sale of natural gas; and (4) the relation of such facts to the development of conservation, industry, commerce, and the national defense. Requires the Commission to report to the Congress and to publish the results of such studies.
