Summary

Nuclear Waste Reprocessing Study Act of 1987 - Directs the Secretary of Energy to contract with the National Academy of Sciences for a study of the feasibility of reprocessing spent nuclear fuel. Details the contents of such study, and directs the Academy to submit the completed study to the Congress by September 30, 1989. Suspends the Secretary's authority to implement site specific work on potential repositories for deep geologic disposal of spent nuclear fuel or radioactive waste until 180 days after the Academy has submitted its study to the Congress.
