Summary
Personal Prescription Drug Import Fairness Act - Amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to promulgate regulations permitting individuals to import into the United States in personal baggage, by mail, or by other approved delivery service a prescription drug that is: (1) imported for personal use by an individual, not for resale, at intervals of not less than approximately 90 days in quantities that do not exceed a 90-day supply; (2) a legally dispensed drug imported from a country, union, or economic area meeting certain criteria; (3) approved by the Secretary; (4) in the form of a final finished dosage manufactured in a registered establishment; and (5) imported under such other conditions as the Secretary determines to be necessary to ensure public safety. Directs the Secretary to maintain and make readily available to the public a list of approved drugs manufactured in registered establishments outside the United States or manufactured in registered establishments inside the United States and exported to a country, union, or economic area meeting certain criteria.
