Summary
Establishes in Congress the Congressional Trade Office to: (1) reassert the constitutional responsibility of Congress with respect to international trade; (2) assist Congress in providing more effective oversight of trade policy; (3) monitor compliance with major bilateral, regional, and multilateral trade agreements; (4) provide Congress with more analytical capability on trade issues; (5) perform certain dispute resolution functions with respect to the World Trade Organization and the North American Free Trade Agreement; (6) participate as observers in selected bilateral, regional, and multilateral trade negotiations; and (7) perform other trade-related functions to Congress.
