Summary

Chinese News Agency Divestiture Act of 2000 - Directs the Secretary of State to report to specified congressional committees on whether the Secretary intends to require the People's Republic of China divest itself of the property purchased at 1515 Arlington Ridge Road by the Xinhua News Agency. Prohibits the obligation of funds made available to the Department of State for Administration of Foreign Affairs to negotiate the purchase of property by China to relocate its embassy in the United States until the Secretary has made a certain certification to specified congressional committees with respect to divestiture of such property and certain mandatory procedures under the Foreign Missions Act for future property purchases by China in the United States.
