Summary
Fisherman's Training and Development Act - Directs the Secretary of Commerce to establish within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration a Fisherman's Training and Development Office. Establishes an Advisory Council on Fisherman's Training and Development. Authorizes the Secretary to: (1) develop and implement an orientation program for use at the elementary and secondary level to stimulate interest in a fisheries career; and (2) enter into contracts with vocational schools or community colleges to operate pilot projects for technical training for a fisheries career, and for upgrading the training and skills of working fisherman. Authorizes the Secretary to award graduate and undergraduate scholarships for fisheries- related studies.
