A bill to revise certain provisions of title 5, United States Code, relating to per diem and mileage and expenses of employees and other individuals traveling on official business, and for other purposes.

Summary

Increases the per diem allowance of Federal employees traveling on official business within the continental United States. Increases the reimbursement for necessary travel expenses incurred by use of a privately owned automobile. Directs the Comptroller General to conduct annually a study on the actual cost to Federal employees for the use of privately-owned vehicles. Requires the reporting three times annually of results under this Act. States that an employee shall not use a privately-owned motorcycle, automobile, or airplane, under specified conditions, unless specifically authorized in writing to do so in the travel authorization. Provides for additional reimbursement for parking fees, ferry fares, and bridge, road, and tunnel tolls.
