Summary

Revises the Rules of the House of Representatives to authorize the hiring of extra staff by each Member serving on one or more standing committees. Provides an amount equal to the highest rate of basic pay for level V of the Executive Schedule for each such committee up to a maximum of two. Directs that specified Members presently authorized additional staff shall receive reduced amounts for the purpose of hiring additional staff. States that the additional staff provided by this resolution shall assist the Member in connection with his membership on the committees on which he serves. Requires each member, not later than five days after the date on which this resolution is adopted, to certify to the Clerk of the House a list containing the names and the total aggregate annual compensation of any professional staff member on such committee whose appointment is recommended by each member.
