Summary
Eelnõu näeb ette tühistada ühele osale alaealisena Eesti kodakondsust taotlevatele isikutele kehtestatud põhjendamatud bürokraatlikud takistused, mis muudavad kodakondsuse saamise kuni 18 aasta pikkuse ooteajaga protsessiks. Eelnõu kohaselt hakatakse kodakondsusseaduse § 13 lõikes 41 nimetatud alaealisi kohtlema Eesti kodakondsuse omandamisel sarnaselt teiste alaealisena Eesti kodakondsuse omandanud isikutega ning neile võimaldatakse mitme kodakondsuse omamine täisealiseks saamiseni. Kodakondsuse seaduse § 3 lg 1 sätestab, et kui isik saab alaealisena nii Eesti kui ka mõne muu riigi kodakondsuse, peab ta 18-aastaseks saamisest kolme aasta jooksul loobuma kas Eesti või mõne muu riigi kodakondsusest
