Summary
Eelnõuga tunnistatakse kehtetuks ja muudetakse sätteid, millega oli üle võetud erisööta reguleeriv direktiiv, et vältida Euroopa Liidu õiguses toodu kordamist. Nimelt kohaldub alates käesoleva aasta 25. detsembrist erisööda kasutusotstarvete ja nende saavutamiseks vajalike kasutusviiside loetelule Euroopa Liidu määrus. Käesoleva eelnõuga kavandatu ning kehtivas seaduses sätestatu sisuliselt ei erine. Muudatused on tehnilist laadi - lisatakse viited otsekohalduvale määrusele. Muudatustega ei kaasne uusi kohustusi sööda käitlejatele ega järelevalveametnikele. Erisööt on sööt, mis on oma koostisest või tootmistehnoloogiast tulenevalt ette nähtud teatava erisöötmise eesmärgi rahuldamiseks ning mis on selgelt eristatav tavalisest söödast. Eestis söödetakse erisööta peamiselt kassidele ja koertele, näiteks eesmärgiga toetada lemmiklooma südamefunktsiooni kroonilise südamepuudulikkuse korral. Seaduse jõustumine on kavandatud 25. detsembrist 2020, sest nimetatud tähtpäevast alates tuleb kohaldada Euroopa Liidu määrust.
