Summary
Looduskaitseseaduse muutmisega soovitakse luua uus rahvuspark – Alutaguse rahvuspark - Ida-Eesti tüüpiliste ja haruldaste soo-, metsa- ja rannikumaastike ning pärandkultuuri kaitseks. Loodav rahvuspark paikneb Ida-Viru maakonnas ning see luuakse olemasolevate kaitsealade baasil. Alutaguse loodavasse rahvusparki kuuluvad Puhatu, Agusalu, Muraka ja Selisoo looduskaitsealad ning Kurtna, Smolnitsa, Jõuga, Struuga ja Mäetaguse maastikukaitsealad, Narva jõe ülemjooksu hoiuala ning Iisaku parkmetsa kaitseala. Kavandatava rahvuspargi pindala on 43 568 hektarit. Kogu ala on täna juba kaitse all ning piirangute ulatus rahvuspargi loomisega ei kasva. Loodavast rahvuspargist moodustab riigimaa 42 627 hektarit ning eramaa 910 hektarit. Rahvuspargi loomisega tekitatakse piirkonda ühtne loodus- ja pärandkultuuri kompleks, mis seob praegused kaitsealad sealsete väärtustega tervikuks. Kavandatav rahvuspark koosneb mitmetest lahustükkidest, mis tähendab, et olemasolevate kaitsealade vahele jäävaid piirkondi ei liideta loodava rahvuspargiga.
