Summary

The bill creates a general framework for the processing of personal data in which we have discretion under the EU General Regulation. The new Personal Data Protection Act also takes over the EU directive on the protection of natural persons in relation to the processing of personal data by competent authorities for the purpose of preventing, investigating, detecting and prosecuting crimes or enforcing criminal penalties and the free movement of such data, and which invalidates the Council's framework decision on the directive of law enforcement agencies.
