Summary
Otsuse eelnõuga määratakse 2027. aastaks kuni 100 kaitseväelase piirarv osalemiseks rahvusvahelisel sõjalisel operatsioonil, kui selleks tekib kiireloomuline vajadus Eesti julgeoleku huvides. Otsus võimaldab Eestil kiiresti reageerida kriisi või konflikti puhkemisele. See ei tähenda, et 2027. aastal lähetatakse 100 kaitseväelast: konkreetne operatsioon ja Eesti panuse suurus ei ole praegu teada. Piirarv on sama mis 2026. aastal. Uue kriisiolukorra ja riigikaitse seaduse järgi ei piirdu selle otsuse alusel osalemine enam Põhja-Atlandi Lepingu Organisatsiooni või selle liikmesriigi, Euroopa Liidu või Ühinenud Rahvaste Organisatsiooni juhitavate operatsioonidega. Samuti ei ole otsus sõnastatud üksnes operatsioonile esmakordseks panustamiseks. Kui tekib vajadus piirarvu kasutada, otsustab osalemise Vabariigi Valitsus Riigikogu määratud piiri ulatuses, võttes arvesse Riigikogu riigikaitsekomisjoni seisukohta.
