Summary
President põhjendas oma ettepanekut nimetada õiguskantsleriks Oliver Kask. „Ta on mitmekülgse töökogemusega tuntud ja tunnustatud õigusteadlane, kelle erapooletus ja usaldusväärsus on väljaspool kahtlust. Oliver Kask on nii Eestis kui rahvusvaheliselt hinnatud ekspert riigiõiguse ja põhiõiguste kaitse küsimuses. Töö Tallinna Ringkonnakohtu halduskolleegiumis ja Riigikohtu liikmeks valimine kinnitavad tema erialast kompetentsust, juhtimis- ja suhtlemisvõimekust. Tema senine elu- ja töökäik lubavad uskuda, et Oliver Kask mõistab võimude lahususe ja tasakaalustatuse süsteemi toimimist, mistõttu suudab ka kõige keerulisemates olukordades eristada maailmavaatelisi ja valija mandaati eeldavaid otsuseid neist, mille langetamise õigus on erapooletul põhiseaduslikul institutsioonil. Arvestades Oliver Kase professionaalset kogemust, teadmisi ja isikuomadusi, leian, et ta on sobiv kandidaat õiguskantsleri ametisse.“
