Summary
Eelnõu näeb ette moodustada Põhja-Atlandi Lepingu Organisatsiooni Parlamentaarse Assamblee (NATO PA) Eesti delegatsioon, mille koosseisu kuuluvad järgmised Riigikogu liikmed: delegatsiooni juht Kadri Simson, liikmed Ants Laaneots ja Sven Sester ning asendusliikmed Leo Kunnas ja Sven Mikser. Seletuskirjas märgitakse, et Eestil, kui NATO PA liikmel, on tulenevalt organisatsiooni põhikirja artiklist 1 õigus moodustada parlamentaarse assamblee kolmeliikmeline delegatsioon ning vajadusel nimetada ka asendusliikmeid. Delegatsioon moodustatakse arvestades poliitiliste jõudude esindatust Riigikogus. NATO PA Eesti delegatsiooni eesmärgid on kaitsta Eesti välispoliitilisi huve, osaleda aktiivselt assamblee üritustel ja komisjonide töös, tagada Eesti julgeolekupoliitika seisukohtade kaitsmine ja Eesti kohustuste täitmine NATO-s. Juhtivkomisjoniks määrati väliskomisjon.
