Summary
Eelnõu võimaldab 2024. aastal panustada kuni kolme kaitseväelasega operatsioonile EUNAVFOR Med/Irini. Operatsiooni EUNAVFOR Med/Irini esmane eesmärk on Liibüale kehtestatud ÜRO relvaembargo rakendamise toetamine. See hõlmab ka rahvusvahelistes vetes Liibüa ranniku lähedal inspektsioonide tegemist laevadele, mida kahtlustatakse relvade või nendega seotud materjalide transportimisel Liibüasse või Liibüast, lähtudes ÜRO Julgeolekunõukogu resolutsioonist 2292 (2016). Lisaks sellele toetab missioon ka ÜRO meetmete rakendamist illegaalse naftaekspordi tõkestamiseks Liibüast, Liibüa mereväe ja piirivalve väljaõpet ja ülesehitamist ning salakaubanduse ja inimeste smugeldamise võrgustike lõhkumist.
