Summary
Eelnõu näeb ette pikendada järgmise aasta lõpuni kuni 50 tegevväelase kasutamise tähtaega ÜRO juhitava rahvusvahelise rahuvalvemissiooni UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) koosseisus Liibanonis. Operatsioonil osalevate Eesti kaitseväelaste rotatsioon toimub kaks korda aastas. Seetõttu võivad rotatsiooniperioodil samal ajal viibida operatsioonialal nii lahkuvad kui ka saabuvad üksused. Selleks näeb otsuse eelnõu ette, et kaitseväele seatud ülempiiri Liibanoni operatsioonil osalemiseks võib rotatsiooniperioodil suurendada kuni 100 tegevväelaseni ühe kuu jooksul alates rotatsioonis osalevate kaitseväelaste saabumisest operatsioonipiirkonda. Eesti kontingendist moodustab enamiku mehhaniseeritud jalaväerühm koos logistikaelemendi ja staabiohvitseridega. Rühma ülesanneteks on vaatlus, patrullid ning kontrollpostide mehitamine, mille käigus tehakse koostööd ka Liibanoni relvajõududega.
