Summary
Eelnõu näeb ette kasutada vajaduse korral Kaitseväe kuni 200 tegevväelast alates 1. jaanuarist 2018 kuni 31. detsembrini Põhja-Atlandi Lepingu Organisatsiooni reageerimisjõudude NRF (NATO Response Force) koosseisus Ühinenud Rahvaste Organisatsiooni põhikirja VI ja VII peatüki alusel rahu ja julgeoleku säilitamise või taastamise eesmärgil korraldatavas sõjalises operatsioonis ning rahvusvahelise õiguse üldtunnustatud tavade ja põhimõtetega kooskõlas olevas muus sõjalises operatsioonis.NRF tagab NATO kiirreageerimisvõime ja sellel on võtmeroll väga lühikese etteteatamisajaga NATO kollektiivkaitseoperatsioonide käivitamisel. NRFi tegevusvõime tagamine on otseselt Eesti riigi huvides. NRFi kasutamise otsustab Põhja-Atlandi Nõukogu ühehäälselt, mis tähendab, et NRFi saab kasutada ainult Eesti nõusolekul.
