Summary
Eelnõu võimaldab kasutada Kaitseväe kuni 50 tegevväelast kuni 2018. aasta 31. detsembrini Eesti riigi rahvusvaheliste kohustuste täitmisel Prantsusmaa sõjalisel operatsioonil Barkhane Malis. Kaitseväe isikkoosseisu ülempiiri võib rotatsiooniperioodil suurendada kuni 100 tegevväelaseni ühe kuu jooksul alates rotatsioonis osalevate tegevväelaste saabumisest Malisse. Prantsusmaa on Eestile edastanud 17. jaanuaril 2018 ametliku kutse osaleda Prantsusmaa operatsioonis Barkhane Mali Vabariigis. Kutse eel ja järel on arutatud Eesti võimalikku osalemist Eesti ning Prantsusmaa kõrgetasemelistel poliitilistel kohtumistel ja kaitseministeeriumite ning kaitsevägede vahelistel konsultatsioonidel. Taotlus lähtub vajadusest panustada Euroopa lõuna suunaliste väljakutsete lahendamisse.
