Summary
Eelnõu annab 2026. aastaks mandaadi kasutada vajaduse korral kuni 100 kaitseväelast NATO, Euroopa Liidu või ÜRO juhitaval rahvusvahelisel sõjalisel operatsioonil, välja arvatud kollektiivse enesekaitse operatsioonil esmakordsel osalemisel. Konkreetse panuse suuruse ja ulatuse otsustab valitsus vastavalt operatsiooni vajadustele. Sellise mandaadi eesmärk on tagada Eesti võimekus reageerida kiiresti ja paindlikult kriisi- või konfliktipiirkondades, kus olukord võib ootamatult eskaleeruda. Otsusega kinnitab Eesti valmisolekut panustada rahvusvahelisse stabiilsusesse ja julgeolekusse, kaitstes samal ajal ka oma riiklikke huve. Mandaadi andmine loob võimaluse reageerida olukordadele, mis ei mahu teiste riigikaitseseaduses sätestatud kiire reageerimise erandite, näiteks NATO reageerimisjõudude kasutamise alla.
