Summary
Mr. Ian Boucard draws the attention of the Minister of Solidarity and Health to the legitimate dissatisfaction of retirees following the announcement he made concerning the increase in pensions estimated for 2019 and 2020 at only 0.3%. It is therefore a considerable loss of purchasing power which is expected for retirees even though they were already suffering the blow from the increase in the CSG without compensation and the increase in fuels. Indeed, the annual revaluation of pensions which must be indexed on "the basis of a coefficient equal to the evolution of the annual average of consumer prices" as stipulated in article L. 161-25 of the social security code should have been according to INSEE of 1.6% in 2019. This new relentlessness against the elderly shows the Government's desire to make savings at the expense of those who have worked all their life. However, this forgets that retirement pensions are the result of a lifetime of work and contributions allowing them to live out the end of their lives in a decent manner. For many retirees in the regions, living with twenty or forty euros less per month represents a concrete loss of purchasing power in their daily lives and can sometimes lead to situations of social distress. It is also forgetting that social justice is not to always take the same, and that this concrete drop in purchasing power planned by the Government will also trigger a drop in this intergenerational solidarity which marks the foundations of French society. The 16 million retirees cannot be the variable of all the budgetary adjustments of a Government which does not know where to make savings. He therefore asks him to renounce this measure of under-indexation of retirement pensions in order to respect its commitment to restore purchasing power to all French people.
