Summary

Between January 2017 and January 2021, 24,160 minor damages were noted across the entire radar fleet, 1,948 radars were heavily vandalized and 1,663 radars were completely destroyed. The peak of vandalism was between November 2018 and March 2019, during which almost a quarter of the fixed speed cameras were destroyed. At the end of December 2019, in addition to their recurring radar maintenance missions, the maintainers of automated control managed to remove all of the destroyed fixed radars. At the end of December 2020, all of the destroyed fixed radars (excluding motorways) were replaced by turret radars, which are less accessible and more difficult to vandalize. At the end of the first quarter of 2021, 100% of fixed speed cameras destroyed on motorways will have been replaced compared to 75% to date.
