Summary
Ms. Albane Gaillot draws the attention of the Secretary of State to the Prime Minister, responsible for people with disabilities, to requests for support from students with disabilities. For the 2017 school year, 300,000 disabled students were educated in ordinary settings. Among them, around 164,000 needed a school assistant (AVS) or a support person for students with disabilities (AESH). To cover these needs, estimated at 80,000 accompanying adults, the Government has budgeted for 50,000 assisted AVS contracts and 30,000 AESH jobs, 8,000 more than at the start of the 2016 school year. Thus, the Ministry of National Education declared on September 19, 2017 that in 98% of cases, i.e. for 160,720 children, requests support for students with disabilities had been provided in the first days of the school year. However, in 2% of cases, 3,280 children were still pending. As you know, the Government has made disability policy a priority for the five-year term. Also, she would like to know the final consolidated figures at the national level and the measures taken by the Government so that all needs can be covered.
