Summary
Mr. Pierre Cordier draws the attention of the Minister of Solidarity and Health to the concerns of the military regarding the pension reform which should be discussed by Parliament in 2019. It seems in fact that the Government plans to put in place a universal system, with the merger of funds and an overhaul of retirement savings. On July 14, 2018, the President of the Republic recalled that “The arms service is not not a job like any other. To be a soldier is to accept a mission like no other: to defend the homeland to the ultimate sacrifice if necessary” and that “as part of the pension reform, [...], I will ensure that the specificities of the military profession and this requirement of the [army] model are taken into account”. The military indeed benefit, through their engagement in theaters of operations, from a certain number of bonuses. He therefore wishes to have confirmation that in the next retirement plan, these bonus schemes will be maintained.
