Summary
Mr. Raphaël Schellenberger questions the Minister of Solidarity and Health on the reimbursement of integrated systems, composed of an insulin pump and a sensor, as part of the treatments offered against diabetes. This technology now allows diabetics to control their blood glucose level thanks to the placement, on the skin, of a sensor connected to a transmitter which supplies information to the blood pump. insulin, thus adapting the treatment in real time. This new device is not yet reimbursable by social security, whereas the glucose sensors alone, operating without connection to the insulin pump, known as “Freestyle Libre”, have been reimbursed since June 1, 2017. Given the interest of this new device for patients and the savings it generates in the cost of treatments, it appears relevant to think about reimbursement options. He would therefore like to know the Government's position on this issue.
