Summary
Mr. Rémi Delatte draws the attention of the Minister of National Education and Youth to the economic and social sciences (SES) programs recently presented by the Higher Program Council. Taught for more than 50 years in high schools, to enable this “third culture” alongside the humanities and sciences, the SES prepare high school students for major contemporary issues. After seeing their place in the lessons profoundly reorganized as part of the 2021 baccalaureate reform, the SES programs, in their content, are raising serious concerns in the teaching community. Considered in particular as too voluminous and technical, these programs also seem too little problematized to retain their emancipatory and stimulating vocation in the eyes of high school students. Also, he asks him if he plans to open a new consultation with teachers with a view to developing new SES programs.
