Mr. Stéphane Demilly draws the attention of the Minister of National Education and Youth to the place of physical and sports education (PES) in France, and more particularly at school. It should therefore be noted the 21% drop in recruitment for the external certificate of aptitude for teaching physical and sports education (CAPEPS) 2018 while the number of candidates, students in the sciences and techniques of physical and sports activities sports (STAPS), is progressing, as is the number of students in secondary education. Added to this is the end of the evaluation of EPS within the framework of the national patent diploma (DNB), and the growing needs in terms of sports equipment and infrastructure. While the Government, following on from the organization of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024, intends to rely on the dynamics of the event to “ make France a nation of sportspeople", it would be relevant to have proactive policies for sport, for the teaching of physical education and sports at school, a place of practice for all young people. He therefore asks him what measures he plans to implement in order to establish a real development plan for EPS.
