Mr. Olivier Gaillard draws the attention of the Minister of Solidarity and Health to the difficult situation of women victims of the Essure definitive sterilization device produced by the Bayer laboratory. On September 18, 2017, the German pharmaceutical laboratory Bayer HealthCare announced that it was ending the marketing of these contraceptive implants in France. If this decision was urgent and necessary, the laboratory Bayer has not provided any removal protocol for women with the device, forcing them to undergo major surgery to extract these implants. The lack of training of certain gynecological surgeons sometimes requires multiple surgical interventions (with general anesthesia and invasive surgical procedures).
